I'm not just speaking of the date for getting out.

I'm also speaking of the objective that we sought to accomplish when we

undertook this military intervention in the first place. Has that objective been achieved? And if so,

is it time to call it quits in Iran? It's a complex question because there are two separate

objectives which supply two different answers to the question. The first objective

is regime change. Get rid of the Mullahs. Free Iran. The second objective is immobilize and

degrade Iran's fighting capability. Take Iran out of the nuke's business. Wipe out Iran's

military resources, shut down the military and terrorist

infrastructure of the mullahs. Now, I'm going to argue that while objective one is desirable,

I support it, it's not why we got in, and it's not worth the risk and the cost. Objective two,

by contrast, is why we got involved. It has been largely achieved. It shouldn't take too long to finish the job. It's time to consider a date for a triumphant exit. Now, I recognize that many in the U.S. military, both leaders and Navy and Air Force personnel, might not share my view. They're having too much fun in Iran.

I know it's a weird thing to say, but it's true.

I'm reminded of when Trump said to Hegsev, hey, why do we have to blow up the Iranian ships?

It seems like a huge waste.

Why don't we just capture them instead?
