Hello and welcome to the fighter pilot podcast. I am your host, Vincent Iiello, call

0:08.7

sign Jello. If you caught last September's CH47 Chinook episode hosted by our friend Tremors,

0:15.3

you may remember my intention to go off a set episode release schedule beginning in 2006 after eight years of three

0:24.6

to four monthly episodes. Well, because of that, I envisioned an end of year wrap-up episode,

0:30.5

like during our first several years of podcasting. You may remember those. And as part of such a

0:35.4

wrap up, I thought it would be fun to provide updates

0:38.0

on what past guests have been up to since their appearance on the show. So I emailed them to

0:43.3

0:53.9

providing updates and

0:55.2

congratulating me on an amazing run on this show. One in particular said, you've had a remarkable

1:01.1

impact on people. Thank you for sharing your love of aviation and superb storytelling and

1:06.5

interviewing skills to the world. When this guest went on to mention his forthcoming book,

1:11.0

which, in his words, takes readers through his most impactful and hair-raising aviation,

1:16.2

combat, and life experiences, helping people unlock their full potential, I suggested, somewhat on

1:22.0

a whim, that to fully do so, perhaps he might consider keeping this show going more regularly.

1:27.4

He was intrigued, we talked, I shipped him some recording equipment. He lined up several

1:32.7

potential guests. And before you know it, we had a plan. So this episode is no longer

1:38.4

simply an end of year wrap-up. It is now the announcement of a fighter pilot podcast

1:43.4

succession plan. Ladies and gentlemen,

1:46.3

please join me in welcoming back the guest of episodes 78 on the F-35 Lightning 2 and 148 on

1:54.4

collision avoidance systems, recently retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and your new fighter pilot podcast host,
