Alistair in London. What was the one that got away? He wanted to know if there was one piece of

jewelry that I saw that I never bought, that I really regret.

And there is, and I'm going to answer this one first because I don't want to keep thinking about it at the end of this episode and be upset that I never got it.

The one that got away was something that I bought from a dealer called Peter Edwards in London,

which I didn't buy from Peter Edwards in London, that I saw there.

And Peter Edwards was on Conduit Street for years,

and all the years I used to run around the corner back to Vogue House when it was in Hanover Square.

I used to pop in and see Peter if I had a few minutes.

And he is a dealer in the great 20th century greats like Belperon, Boisvin, people like that.

They're increasingly very hard to find. And I learned a lot from Peter and we'd have great

chats. I know I've mentioned before that I love that modernist period of sort of 20s 30s when it was all about speed and breaking away from the formality of fine jewelry in a new design language set by modernist designers like Jean de Prey. He was an aircraft engineer at the end
