he's the Lawrence A Tish Professor of Law at NYU and he's a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago.

Richard this morning the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in what could become a

landmark case Dobbs versus Jackson Women's Health Organization. Now the

specifically legal issue at hand is whether a state Mississippi may ban

abortions before the so-called viability cutoff date that was established so many years ago in Roe v. Wade.

Many people believe that this case could and probably will lead to Roe v. Wade being

overturned, especially since conservative justices hold a majority on the bench.

So you went through some of the arguments this morning.

Can you walk us through the arguments and what was said.

Were there any novel arguments,

were there misguided ones,

were there surprising reactions

from any of the justices?

Well, I think the answer is there's an extraordinary diversity of opinion on both sides of this issue,

and that people landed far and wide.

It was a long argument, it was kind of convoluted. You had both the

Jackson's, the clinic on the one hand and also the Solicitor General

weighing in on that side. And you had the Stolwood Mississippi, of the general Mr. Stewart trying to give
