Welcome back to another edition of The Teardown.

My name is Jeff Luck, and I'm a longtime coworker, Jordan Bianchi.

We are writers for the athletic.

And usually when I say that we're along with each other, we're actually on Zoom and can see each other.

But today, Jordan, we're actually in person, not only in person, but we're in victory

lane at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

We're surrounded by confetti, an empty monster can, and you are sitting with your nice slacks on a plastic drink carrier thing so that you don't rip your slacks on the concrete of Victory Lane.

What a scene here as we, what a day at Atlanta Motor Speedway overall.

So tell me again, why are they reconfiguring this place? I understand the repave. I understand

it. This place needs to be repaved. There is no arguing that. Why are they reconfiguring this?

Because today was the perfect mile and a half track race.

It couldn't have been any better.

It had tire wear.

It had comers and goers.

It had strategy.

It rewarded guys an ability over long runs.

This was the perfect race on a mile and a half race track.

You're asking the wrong person here, Jordan.

Obviously, I'm not in favor of the reconfiguration.

As are most people not in the garage, most the driver's not in favor of it, I should say,

except one person was in favor of it.
