Many of you might be aware of the recent issues that are happening in our state where

an Eid festival that was advertised right after our Salat al-Iid, right after the Eid al-Adi,

where Muslim families were supposed to come and enjoy a friendly time at a water park.

Many of you are aware that the governor got involved, the state legislator got involved, and they made a very big deal

out of a very small, very private event because the organizers had said that this is a Muslim

friendly, modest swimwear, we don't want to see anything, would have been family friendly.

And for some reason, a small event that would have just had a few hundred, maybe a thousand people come,

reached the highest levels of our state.

The governor himself made it a very big deal.

And he threatened the city of Forest Mound, an entire city in our Dallas region.

He threatened to withhold the city's half a million dollars of government spending

if they allowed the Muslim event to go forward.
