Erin Davis says, in a lot of marriages, if wives would step back and stop trying to lead,

their husbands would become better leaders.

And when I realized I want him to be stronger, so I need to be softer, that really turned things on its head.

That's so countercultural.

Erin, do you remember the first time or one of the first times in your marriage that

the fierceness in you came out in some sort of conflict with Jason. You're married to a

youth pastor. I think I said, I do. And then I think the fierceness came out. Did it not show up when

you were dating? Oh, yeah, it showed up when we were dating. Yeah. So he wasn't surprised.

No, he knew what he was in for. Sure he did. I always say

there's type A and there's type A and I'm type double A and some days type AAA. I mean,

I'm fierce. And the Lord has honed that into a soft warrior, but it took a lot of years.

And our early years of marriage, yes, being married to a youth pastor, totally disappointed
