0:00.0	As we read the gospel records, we read eyewitness accounts of the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus.
0:14.4	In a sense, the gospels are just the beginning of Christ's work. The adventure continues in the
0:20.5	Book of Acts. In this study with
0:22.6	Scott Pauli, we consider the continuing work of Christ through the Holy Spirit, who works
0:28.8	through the apostles in the New Testament Church. Now, let's get in on the adventure.
0:38.7	Relationships are so important, and in every relationship, you are either a refresher or a
0:45.4	drainer.
0:46.1	I mean by that, you're either sapping strength from someone, or you're giving strength to

0:53.1	And I don't know about you, I want to be a refresher, not a drainer.
0:56.5	We're studying one of the great refreshers of Scripture, and that is Barnabas.
1:00.5	We were introduced to him way back in Acts chapter number four, and we've decided to take
1:05.6	just a little detour and concentrate on his life for a few days.
1:10.7	In Acts chapter four, we found that this Son of Consolation encouraged the needy.
1:15.4	Then in Acts chapter number 9, we found that he encouraged a new believer.
1:20.3	That's important.
1:21.8	Today we turn our attention to Acts chapter number 11, and we discover that this man was
1:27.2	actually an encouragement to the entire church.
1:30.4	Dear Lord, give us some Barnabuses, give us some encouragers in the local assembly.
1:36.8	I remember hearing someone say years ago, be nice because everybody's having a hard time.
1:42.1	There's a lot of truth in that.
1:43.3	Everybody's having a hard time and everywhere you go, people are struggling.
