This is episode 206 of paranormal stories.

In this episode, I'm reading from Irene Blinston's book,

Gazing into the afterlife, unlocking the mystery

of the psychomantium for healing grief in all its forms. When I have guests on my podcasts,

I read their books to work out questions for the episodes. When reading these books,

always find such amazing information that never makes it into the podcast, and here I get a chance

to give you a peek into the book. I've put a link to the book in the show notes, and I did seek

permission to record this extract, and the author kindly said yes. I'm going to be reading from

chapter six, which is titled Encountering the Familiar and this is what Irene has written.

In our research we were interested in each person's experiences and whatever relationship,

if any, those experiences might have had with the reduction of grief symptoms.

We were also exploring what occurred in the psychomantium.

The participants reported experiencing a variety of phenomena.

Even though the experiences may not have made sense to us, we couldn't simply disregard

them.

Equally so, if at any time the experiences made no sense to the participant, they could make sense of them later.

Dr Rebecca Mers, who was the research coordinator and an integral member of our research team,

focused her doctoral dissertation on our psychomantium research.

Dr. Mers worked closely with Dr. Hastings for eight years

and chose to conduct a qualitative analysis of the post-session transcripts for the 12 participants

whose scores on the pre- and post-questionnaires showed the most change for both negative
