But for the next few weeks, we're going to do something a little different.

Instead of a short voicemail episode, we're going to share an extra episode of Kind World

with you.

These are some of our favorite classic kind world stories that we hope remind you of the power of compassion and kindness that's out there, even when times are especially difficult.

Times like right now.

This week, we're sharing an episode called The Rhythm Within,

two stories showcasing just how important mentorship and music can be.

28-year-old Jonathan Monde can still remember the smallest details of growing up in the Democratic

Republic of Congo.

There was a moment sitting on my father's lap looking into the sky, a light passing by and telling my dad, I this vividly I told him I thought it was a

shooting star and he told me that it wasn't. Now Jonathan understands that the light was probably a flare or an explosive

device. These moments of innocence, haunted by a sense of danger, were

present throughout his childhood.

Jonathan was born in 1991, into a conflicted region at a turbulent time.

The war involves huge numbers of soldiers on all sides and those who've suffered most are the civilian population.

The soldiers came to our village, looted our house, taking money and other belongings, and the soldiers killed people here in our village.
