From the very beginning, over two decades ago, I've always promised to discuss the silent

epidemics in this country. The issues that leave so many suffering and isolation and afraid

to seek help. And tonight's topic is very consistent, right on point.

Shockingly, every 68 seconds, someone 12 years old or older

is sexually assaulted in this country.

That's nearly half a million children, mothers, sisters, and friends.

To put it in perspective, that's enough survivors to fill

nearly 11 baseball stadiums. But sadly, due to the stigma, shame, victim blaming, and

embarrassment that many often feel, nearly 70% of these inhumane assaults are never even reported to the police.

And you know what's worse? Even when a woman is courageous enough to come forward,

they rarely get justice because the incarceration rate of these violent perpetrators

is less than 3%.

That leaves over 450,000 sexual assault predators walking free on our streets, in our communities right now.
