Many of us can remember a key moment in our lives that changed our

paths forever. Maybe because of an epiphany or maybe it was brought on by

circumstances way beyond our control.

Today I want to share another classic kind world episode with you,

the story of a man, his own life altering moment,

and the people who helped make it happen.

In February 2018, Aaron Stark was watching the news with his wife and teenage daughter.

It began as an ordinary school day.

The gunman appears to have pulled the school's fire alarm.

Tonight as authorities come through the school looking for answers,

17 people are dead and many wounded.

A gunman had walked into Marjorie Stoneman-Douglas High School

in Florida and killed 17 people.

That's when Aaron found himself having the same conversation with his

family that so many of us were having with ours. My wife and my daughter had been

talking right after the shooting about how how could someone get to that point

and how could it ever get to the point where someone would commit such an atrocity.

His 17-year-old daughter Katie was having an especially hard time trying to

answer that question.
