0:20.0	and it begins in an unlikely place, South Korea.
0:24.0	My dad, Robert Hyatt, served in the United States Marine Corps in the early 1950s,
0:29.0	and that was during the height of the Korean War.
0:32.0	And it was a conflict that cost... during the height of the Korean War.
0:32.8	And it was a conflict that cost over a million lives,
0:36.4	36,000 Americans, by the way,
0:38.8	who were wounded or left dead or had permanent disabilities.
0:43.6	My dad served as a gunner on a tank.
0:45.7	In that role, one of the things he had to do was periodically clean the tank.
0:49.6	So he and one of his buddies were out on the tank one day cleaning the gun when there was an
0:55.8	incoming missile that blew up and my dad got hit with some shrapnel.
1:01.2	And it knocked him out.
1:02.4	In fact, he was in a coma for months, his buddy was killed, and it altered his life in a very dramatic way because it was a very severe hit injury, and it's left him with a limp that he walks with to this day.
1:16.5	Well as a young boy I didn't know anything about the war. I didn't know anything about the
1:19.9	injury. You know I just wasn't old enough to be aware of that. But what happened was that I started
1:25.7	inadvertently walking with a limp myself. So much so that my mom finally, when I was about five years old,
1:31.1	called me aside, put her arm around me and said
1:33.8	Michael is there a reason why you're walking with a limp did you hurt yourself?
