I wanted to share an episode from season five with the 18-year-old guitarist and songwriter Grace Bowers.

2024 was a big year for her and her band The Hodgepodge with the release of their debut

album Wine on Venus.

They're currently on tour, so make sure to catch them in a city near you.

Hey y'all, welcome to Biscuits and Jam from Southern Living. I'm your host, Sid Evans.

And today I'm talking with a young guitar player and songwriter who's showing up on some of the biggest stages in the music business, from making

her debut at the Grand Ole Opry to performing with Dolly Parton. Grace Bowers grew up in Northern

California, but when she was 14 years old, her parents decided to move the family to Nashville

for better schools and a different kind of life. At first, the culture shock was too much for her.

But as Grace became more and more serious about the guitar,

she found a music community that recognized her incredible talent.

Now at just 18, she and her band The Hodgepodge have a new funk and soul-inspired album out called Wine on Venus,

a title inspired by Grace's grandmother, who passed away not long ago at the age of 100.

The album's producer is John Osborne from the Brothers Osborne, who's become a friend and mentor

as she navigates her abrupt rise to stardom.

We'll talk about all that, how Beebe King sparked a passion for music, her obsession with Sly and the family stone,
