Today we'll be telling the story of St. Juan Diego, whose feast is celebrated on December

Juan Diego, whose given name at birth was Quatletozen, which means the talking eagle, was born

in 1474 near Mexico City, Mexico.

Not much is known about his early life, but at age 50 he and his wife were among the

first indigenous peoples to accept baptism and become Christians.

St. Juan Diego was married, but he and his wife Maria had no children.
