For so many families across the country, summer is a time for reunions.

A time to catch up with your favorite cousins and hear stories from that one on or

all of those who knows everybody's business, but also the family history.

For black people in particular, these family reunions can remind us of where we came from.

To joy and laughter and shared wisdom, they can fortify us for the year ahead.

So while the Intu America team is hard to work on some new projects that were really excited

to bring you this fall, we're closing out summer by bringing back a few of our favorite

voices from these last few years.

The ones that capture the spirit of a family reunion and in a way feel like they're part

of the Intu America family too.

First, here's one that always puts a smile on my face.

When the importance of black summer escapes as tradition, this episode was originally

released on June 10, 2021.

During the summers of my childhood in South Jersey, when the sun was bright and high, there

were only a few ways to escape the heat.

There was the ice cream man, but that was just a momentary fix.

And of course, there was the log flume at Clementine Park, our rinky little budget amusement

park, which was pure, unadulterated, chaotic bliss, but could be a bit pricey for all of

us.

But the one place I remember most finally was Add Sun Lake.
