Claire worked in the marketing department for an up-and-coming artisan bakery.

Unfortunately, the artisan bakery in question was so up-and-coming.

Nobody actually knew it existed.

But then she had the really good idea to use Canva to create a business plan.

It looked good, really, really good. Their investors thought so too.

My very first guest for the new season is Amethyst Kia, a guitarist, banjo player, singer,

and songwriter who recently appeared in For Love and Country, a documentary that explores

the new generation of black artists who are transforming country music.

Her Rounder Records debut, Wary and Strange, was nominated for the 2021 album of the year by Folk Alliance

International. She was chosen by CMT for its next women of country, Class of 2022, and she was

nominated for a Grammy for her song Black Myself, which you'll hear her sing later in this show.
