Summary

When one of her therapy patients said to Dr. Samantha Boardman, “All we ever do is talk about stuff that's going wrong in my life - and we don't talk about much else", it inspired a change in the way she approached her practice and eventually inspired her to write Everyday Vitality: Turning Stress into Strength. Based on 15 years of experience as a psychiatrist, Samantha gives Kelly some practical, achievable strategies that are life-enhancing and resilience-building. No more rehashing the past and what went wrong in an effort to find a sense of well-being - the better strategy is to cultivate vitality and transform each new day into a more fulfilling one. suffering, she is deeply committed to helping her patients and readers embrace joy, resilience,

I have been talking about Samantha Bordman longer than I have known Samantha Bordman. I first

1:18.2

came across her in her book Everyday Vitality, which resonated with me on every level, as a mom,

1:24.8

as a wife, as an individual who went at mind feeling better on more days, and then I ended up

1:30.3

meeting her at a dinner coincidentally, and found that she was very comfortable saying things that

1:36.4

some people are not. As she'll explain, historically, psychiatry focuses on the diagnosis of disease

1:44.2

and the treatment of illness. But there are other approaches, approaches that are more expansive,

1:50.1

approaches that focus on the promotion of well-being. Samantha's practice combines years of training

1:57.8

in medical school and psychiatry with her studies in the field of positive psychology, and she is

2:05.1

devoted to sharing practical achievable strategies to enhance your life and build resilience. Without

2:12.7

smiley faces or rainbows and without finger wagging or guilt, this is a conversation to share with

2:19.6

any and all friends who are in therapy now or otherwise seeking greater vitality. We are always

eager to hear your thoughts. Our email is hello at Kelly Corrigan.com. All right, let's jump into
