Summary

This meditation will help the emotions flow more freely. You can listen to it to it when you feel rough or upset or simply to experience greater ease in life. By allowing the emotions to be fully felt, without resistance and without mental involvement, they are able to resolve and move through, rather than becoming "stuck". (We did this episode in response to an email requesting help with grief.) Today's guided meditation has to do with allowing the emotions to flow freely.

This meditation will be useful if you're feeling any emotional roughness

or just to develop that habit of flowing easily with the emotions.

You can do this meditation either sitting or lying down.

Take some time to get comfortable.

Now close your eyes.

Simply become aware of what you're experiencing right now.

Just noticing what's being experienced.

The sounds in the room, the temperature of the air,

how does your body feel as it's lying on the bed or sitting on the chair?

Noticing how thoughts come and go.

Thoughts are coming and going in the mind.

Not minding that, not trying to stop thoughts or getting involved with them.
