any other, you know, hockey lover out there like me was watching the NHL draft.

Oh, yeah, that's right, yeah.

And, you know, of course, the Islanders had the number one pick, and of course they took Matthew

Schaefer as opposed to James Haynes.

Yeah.

And, you know, I kind of knew Matthew's story a little bit.

Didn't know it all that well, but, you know, read about him obviously and then all of a sudden you see him crying his father's crying his brother's crying

and then they start talking about his story in depth and what he has been through uh he's not even

18 years old yet he's lost his mom to cancer the islanders put the hockey fights cancer ribbon on

the jersey they put her initials inside the jersey in the back of the jersey. He puts that jersey on. He kisses that ribbon. He didn't even know that was happening. Yeah. And, you know, now they start getting into all of this. And when these young kids go away, they end up living with like, you know, billet families is what they call them.

And, you know, so if they go away to go play hockey and they leave home at a young age, they go

live with a billet family. And it turns out that his billet mom or the mom in that family ended up dying

as well. And I think it was prior to his mom's death.

And I think she unfortunately took her own life.

And I'm thinking that this kid is like 17, almost 18 years of age.

And I have to say, I have to admit it, I was crying.
