In this episode, Autumn de Wilde takes us behind the scenes of her new comedic drama, Emma.

Adapted from the Jane Austen novel, the film tells the story of Emma Woodhouse, a well-meaning that's selfish young woman who meddles in the relationships of her friends

while venturing through her own romantic missteps in a small town in 1800s, England.

Emma is Ms. DeWild's feature directorial debut.

After a recent screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, Ms. DeWild spoke with

director Mike Mills about filming Emma. Listen on for their spoiler-filled conversation.

Hello, everyone. I'm Mike. Hi. Hi. I'm Autumn. I'm Autumn. Um, Autumn, congratulations on such an

amazing film. I'm an old friend of Autumn, so I'm like so proud and excited. And, um, and what a

freaking hard first film. What a ridiculous challenge. Like, uh, so I know, I don't know if you all know Autumn's work,

but I've done Autumn for years as a still photographer

and like me, a music video and film music video and ad director

and filmmaker of that, Stripe.

And so when I heard you were doing this or I saw the ad for it, I was like, gosh, that's

autumn?

And because autumn comes from sort of famously Los Angeles bohemian roots and this sort of music, rock,

and roll background.

And then I started watching the movie.

I was like, oh, oh my god this is so autumn
