Less than a week after Shaka Smart left Texas for Marquette, the Longhorns secured their No. 1 guy to take over the Texas basketball program in former Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard.
Beard makes his way to Austin after a highly successful run in Lubbock that saw Beard lead the Red Raiders to the program’s first Elite Eight, Final Four and the National title game appearances in school history.
On this week's emergency podcast edition of The Flagship, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes discuss the new Texas basketball coach, who interviewed for the Texas head-coaching role Thursday morning and accepted the job the same day.
