So this all brings us here to today, where I announce that I am retiring.

Where I announce I am retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

And today, I must admit, I am officially overrated, vastly overrated.

But, it took a lot of hard work and determination getting here. I have been the

underdog my entire career and I mean this when I say it. I wish I still was.

Few things gave me more joy than proving someone wrong. My mother used to tell people and still says to this day,

if you want Jason to do something, all you have to do is tell him he can't.

And that was true in more ways than I care to admit.

Well, there you're here, Rub. Jason Kelsey calls it a career,

not a surprise, but a pretty emotional day at the Nova

Care Complex. Yeah, I think everyone was kind of braced for it, but it was still a lot

and seeing him so emotional, now his brother, his parents there.

It was, it was a difficult day for a lot of people and a lot of

Philadelphians, and I know there were a lot of tears shed as he was certainly shedding the most but I know a lot of other people were as well

It was a it was an unusual event. I've never really been to anything like that. You know most great eagles don't retire here. They go off somewhere else.

Reggie became a packer, Doc became a bronco. Eventually they come back, but the immediacy of this was just playing for this team a month ago. It was a lot. And I think I still don't kind of part of me still doesn't believe he's really not going to play football

But it's just been such a fixture in the middle of that old line for this team for so long

It's just hard to believe he's not going to be there. They want a training camp, but time moves on.

It does. It was, you're right, it was a strange day, but it was cool.

I thought he did a really good job.

In the beginning I was worried for him because I was thinking,

I don't know if he's going to make it through this.
