It happened on June 1st, as we expected shortly after 4 p.m. A.J. Brown traded to the New England Patriots.

Yeah. And, you know, even though we kind of knew it was coming, the reality hits you. Like, they just traded this great player way. But I think there were good reasons for it.

Ideally, you'd love to have that pick next year, not 28, that first round pick, but

there's reasons for that as well.

If you have a player, no matter how good he is, who doesn't want to be here, I think

it's in the best interest of the franchise to accommodate him. who doesn't want to be here, I think it's in the best interest

of the franchise to accommodate him. You don't want a disgruntled guy who's going to be

distraction or cause trouble, cause friction. And I think it was kind of headed that way. So if he

doesn't want to be here, it's a trade you have to make.

It's a big cap hit, even if it's split up over the next two years with the post-June 1st.

But I feel like it's a trade that how he had to make.

Okay, so let's get into the compensation.

You mentioned it there.

That's obviously the big part of all of this. That's the first thing you think about a trade. It's like, all right, what did they get

back to trade this great player? They did get a first round pick. That first round pick is in

2028. So not this 2027 draft coming up, the following one. And they also also get a fifth

round pick in 2027. And they also also get a fifth round pick in

27. So technically they did get more than a first round pick. But if you're a fan, you're

sitting there saying, hey, I don't think that's enough compensation, especially if you're
