One year deal. He'll be back in 2026. Yeah, this is a big move. It kind of felt like it was

trending this way, but you never know when you have contracts involved.

They can be tricky, especially the AJ Brown situation affecting the Dallas Goddard situation.

But you get a good player back for 2026. You get a reliable tight end.

They don't really have another legit tight end, receiving tight end on the roster.

So this was a big move and they need him they

need dallas scottor if they don't have anyone else they'll probably draft a tight end even with

got her back you would think they'll draft somebody i think this will change your draft plans

but this is a move they had to make and it's good to have them back yeah and it seemed like this

was just the outcome that everyone involved wanted they were working toward toward it. It was just a matter of, you know, if and when they were able to hammer it out. And they do. I think it's good for both sides. Goddard wants to be here. The Eagles want him here. So it was just about coming to an agreement on that contract. And you brought up the salary cap ramifications. We should go

through that because it was a big element of this deal. Aside from just wanting the player back,

there were some serious cap implications for the Eagles and incentive to extend Goddard, basically.

So he had a contract that had void years on it. And when you leave a contract with void years, all of those cap hits accelerate to the current season.

So in this case, it'd be over $20 million in a dead cap hit for Goddard this season if he

went and played elsewhere.

So that's why they kept pushing that void date back, pushing it back.
