What's going on, everybody? How are you doing? This is an emergency go birds pod because the Eagles have made their first, I would say, big offseason decision of the offseason. And that is the release of cornerback Darius Slay.

The move, while not announced, was reported widely on Monday that Darius Slay will be released

from the team, ending his run with the team.

And man, we got a lot to get into.

First, though, I think it's only right that we talk about Darius Slay's run with the team

before we get into the other aspects of this,

because there are a lot of dominoes that fall from the release of Darius Slay,

which is why I wanted to hop on and give you my thoughts on all of it in an emergency podcast.

First, let's talk about Darius

Slay, the player, during his five years with the Eagles. So if you remember, Darius Slay came in

during the COVID season. The Eagles traded for him that offseason prior. And I remember that year,

I did the Players Lounge with Darius, Slay, actually, I should say,

since he very much does not like being called Darius.

And I think that first year with Slai, they never really got the full player that he could become.

You look at that season, he played in 15 games.
