mercy and peace to you from God our Heavenly Father and from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My dear friends in Christ were in a very unique time in the church year.

Last year we celebrated Pentecost Sunday,

where we observed not only the work of the Holy Spirit,

but also his person, who he is, God, the third person of the Holy Trinity.

But also, we noted especially what it is his work to do, namely to highlight or to put the spotlight on the Lord Jesus Christ,

to give us faith to trust in the Savior in His redeeming sacrifice, in His shed blood, and his resurrection all accomplished for us. And today we celebrate Trinity Sunday, that time when we focus not simply upon the Holy Spirit nor only upon the Savior himself but upon the one true God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Those of you that know me know that today for me ask for really for all of us, but for me is a special day particularly.

Being one who was raised in an organization that denied the Holy Trinity, it's an emotional subject for me.

It's one of great importance because after all we're talking about the identity of the one true God.

Imagine for just a moment if you were married to somebody,

and you heard that person describing you to another person

and everything that they said about you was wrong.

From what you liked to what you didn't like, from the kinds of things that you did and the things that you didn't do, all the way down to who you were, perhaps saying that

they were actually married to the person down the street.

It's really not much of a relationship to speak of.

And yet there are millions in our world today

who insist that we all really worship the same God.

Well, my fellow redeemed in Christ that God has revealed himself to us in one way, in one way only,

and that's in the Holy Scriptures, and it's there that he teaches us that he exists as Father and son and Holy Spirit.
