leadership, including Hussein Salami, the head of the RIRGC, and the Army Chief of Staff,

as well as leading Iranian nuclear scientists.

This blow comes just two days before U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Whitkoff, was scheduled to meet with Iran's foreign minister and what looked like a final attempt to resolve the Iran nuclear crisis diplomatically.

U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has said that the U.S. had no involvement in the planning of the attack.
