So I do think that it is notable just how much overlap there is between this and the

January 6th indictment, substantively. Certainly, as we've said, this is broader, there are specific

areas where it goes into a lot more detail. But the general gist is the same and it's actually

I was really struck by how the opening paragraph of this indictment I think is almost the same

as the opening paragraph of the of Jack Smith's January 6th indictment. They both essentially

say Donald Trump lost the 2020 election and then he tried to hold on to power and so the

broad strokes are quite similar and that does make me wonder what it will look like not only to

have four trials going on around the same time potentially but also two of those trials touching on

substantially similar fact patterns and probably witnesses as well. Both this and the federal

January 6th indictment really touch at the heart of what's so troubling about Trump's continued

presence in American political life and as a presidential candidate and there especially if the

Georgia trial is able to go to trial in six months as Willis said she was hoping to do. I don't

know how realistic that is. It seems pretty clear that one way or another they're going to be very,

very tangled up in one another.
