Our long national nightmare is over.

0:33.9

Jimmy Butler traded to the destination that probably was discussed third among those where he might be sent outside of Miami and Houston, but talks had clearly fizzled in that direction.

0:45.8

And so Tom Thibito decided finally to pull the trigger and it seems like the impetus was that they weren't winning with Butler, right? I mean that's what we said Danny was like, well what's going to get him out of there?

0:58.0

The fact that this idea that they were going to still win with Butler and tips was going to save his job with Butler was proved a fallacy and I think at 4-9 after a loss of the Kings last night they had reached that point.

1:09.5

4-9 and 0-5 road trip is rough. I mean that's a lot to take and yeah they were road games they lost the Sacramento on Friday night.

1:18.4

I think a good place to start with this and any trade that's what we usually do is with the terms themselves.

1:23.1

So the deal is Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton who just had his option to climb so he will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019.

For Robert Covington, Dario Sharwich, Jared Bayless and a 2022 second round pick per real GM, Philly has the better of theirs in Denver.

1:51.4

Yeah and Minnesota reducing their luxury tax not bill because they weren't in the tax but breathing room by a little bit

2:00.1

Philly was so far away from the taxes here it didn't really matter they had like 20 million.

2:03.5

In room Philly still has their room exception as well to try and sign someone. I think we should start from Philly's end here.

2:11.8

While we're sticking with the financials obviously there's so much to talk about with how this is going to look on the floor.

2:17.2

This actually doesn't hurt Philly's financial situation as much as you might think right because the salary was pretty even going out.

2:24.8

Butler he does have a big capital next year 30.7 million dollars making 20 this year.

2:30.9

So increase that by 1.5 that's how you get his capital for next year but it is short of the max they could be making which is projected for 32.7 right now.

2:39.2

So they get a little bit of extra room there once they give him what sounds like a likely max extension depending on how things go.

2:45.5

But this is done with the intention of keeping him.

2:48.2

So but then you're subtracting shards and you're subtracting Covington so you that opens up a little more to remember they were pretty much right at about.
