And today I have Ilko-Vadix,ical care maestro, still a in the trenches clinician

in addition to being an amazing researcher and academic. Ilko's been on the show before,

and I'm sure he'll be on again. He is just fantastic. And he has done both a review paper and a

retrospective study of neuroleptic malignant syndrome. You know you've made it when you get the

the New England Journal review article on a topic and he did it on neuroleptic malignant syndrome

along with Alan Ropper. And it was a fantastic episode.

I filled in some of the blanks on my own knowledge base on NMS.

Now, before we roll into the interview, Ilko sent me two books.

And he didn't ask me to plug them.

He just sent them out of the goodness of his heart.

But then having experienced these two books over the past few weeks, I'm going to

plug them because they're fantastic. The first one is the Mayo review book for neurocritical and

critical care. I wish I had had this book when I took my neurocritical care boards. It is

fantastic. It has a focus towards neurocritical care, but also fills in all the gaps on surgical and

medical critical care. Really well-written, really concise, fun to have. I'd get it as a

fellow, even just to use as a learning resource. Really good book. And then the one he sent me

just recently is called Neurocritical Care. It's by Ilko and Alejandro
