Hey, folks, Scott Weingard here, and this is an M-Crit-We. Today, we had some questions about an episode

0:07.0

I had done recently with Sheldon Cheskes on all things defibrillation, and especially dual

0:12.9

sequential defibrillation, vector change, et cetera. And since that episode, it got a lot of

0:19.8

discussion, and I got some questions from people I know are

0:23.8

resuscitation experts. So I posed them to shell and we just decided the easiest way to answer

0:28.6

them is just do a second episode. Now, as we were getting ready to publish this, something big

0:34.9

happened that I'll discuss at the end in terms of the European Resuscitation

0:38.2

Council, but it's not big in a good way. So even if you're not interested in the geeky stuff,

1:12.7

yeah, but Scott, when I look at the diagram in the New England journal paper,

1:17.1

those pads for the AL were placed really medial. And they're pointing to a diagram that has

1:23.3

just a horizontal pad placement with part of the pad medial to the nipple line.

1:28.6

And they're like, if they had only placed the pads properly, then maybe the trial would have

1:33.5

been different. And I reached out to you, you're like, Scott, we didn't place the pads there.

1:37.3

You sent me a whole bunch of images where the pads were actually placed from your training

1:41.3

material. And it's pretty clear. The pads are placed exactly

1:44.5

where they're supposed to be. So tell me about the origins of that diagram, how your anticipation was
