Now in my mind, this will be a quick one, but sometimes what's in my mind is not what

actually turns out when the audio recording is completed.

But we shall see.

The topic of today's discourse is on a new wrinkle in the evolution of push-dose pressers,

specifically push-dose Evan Evern.

And it came from a debate I've been having with my buddy Sam Galley on what is the easiest

and best way to actually execute push-dose Evan Evern.

Now before I go into Sam's new wrinkle, I want to talk to you about the evolution of this

in the time of my career.

So when I first started M-Crit 14 years ago, I believe podcast number six was on push-dose

pressers, a term that did not exist at the time.

I coined the term push-dose pressers.

But the idea definitely existed as well discussed shortly.

I did not invent the idea behind them.

But the name, because what it was called in the literature up until that point, in the

scant literature that was there was bolus-dose pressers, which to my mind is very confusing,

because a bolus could be a thousand CC bag.

It could encompass the dirty epinephrine, which is a ridiculous debacle.

So push-dose makes a lot more sense.

You're pushing the dose, specifically on push-dose phenelephrine, which I always found a pain

to mix up.
