Hello and welcome back to Sotriology 101. This is going to be a little different episode.

I'm actually responding to several emails and messages I've been getting over the last couple of weeks.

Apparently, because of my interactions with Dr. White and with Dr. Michael Brown on this particular podcast,

a lot of people have interest in what my opinion is on this whole

back and forth with, apparently, James White is getting some heat because he's, I guess, friends

with Michael Brown, or he's, quote, unquote, embraced Michael Brown. And because of that, much like

his critics have come against James White about his interfaith dialogue with Muslims, that he's

getting a lot of criticism because apparently he's too friendly. I guess that's what embracing

means. And so I did want to speak to this because I get this criticism as well in different areas. Many of you remember that I invited Jerry Walls to a program. And the same people who are attacking, James White attacked me for inviting Jerry Walls to a university

to speak, even though he holds to views that would differ than I would, that I hold to,

and that others at the conference may hold to, that there's a certain hypersepartism, I guess

you could put it, that in order to be quote unquote orthodox, whatever that

means, depending on who you are and where you come from, then you can't associate with, you can't be

friendly towards people in ways that I don't, I can't get my brain around it. I'm trying to understand these things.

And as I think you'll hear, I'm going to play some back and forth a little bit on this.

You'll hear a little bit of what I'm talking about because it can get a little confusing.

I don't agree with Michael Brown on a lot of his theological views, especially as it relates to his

charismatic tendencies. And I don't agree with James White on his sociology. But it's interesting.

One of the biggest questions I get is, why do you think it is that James White is so friendly

with and respectful towards Michael Brown, even though Michael

Brown is theologically further away from James White than you are.

Because really David Allen and those of us in the Southern Baptist traditionalist camp,
