that will help us embrace more aspects of life and meet them with curiosity.

So this is a poem by Rumi.

I don't know if I've shared it on this podcast before, but if I did, it's worth hearing again. And if you've heard it already, it's definitely worth hearing again.

It's called The Guest House.

And if you have heard it before, see what it's like to listen as if hearing it for the

first time. And if you haven't heard it before, just see what it's like to listen for the first

time. And you can always make poetry a form of practice itself listening to poetry. And so whether you're driving

right now, sitting, walking, standing, you don't necessarily need to be still. But see if you

can access that place within you that is more still and really receive the words in that place.

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival, joy a depression a meanness some momentary awareness comes

as an unexpected visitor and says welcome and entertain them all.

Even if there are a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture,

still treat each guest honorably.

They may be clearing you out for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,

meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
