hemorrhage management trying to streamline and simplify things.

I just recently had a case and it brought all of this back but had some extra teaching

points that I thought were worth getting into.

So the case that I had was a 34-year-old woman G5P4 about 15 weeks, presenting with

heavy vaginal bleeding and passage of fetal parts. Initial heart rate was 113. BP was 123 over 72,

but EMS said that she syncopized en route. In front of us, she's A&O times three, and I know what you're thinking, is this really postpartum hemorrhage? This is actually post-abortion hemorrhage or post-misscarriage hemorrhage. But when patients with miscarriage or abortion have severe bleeding, they're going to be managed the same as postpartum hemorrhage. This can

occur in spontaneous abortion, but it can also happen with medically assisted abortion.

And I've seen a couple of patients presenting from a clinic with heavy bleeding exactly the same

as the patient that I'm seeing now. Going back to our patient, she looked well perfused,

clearly in some pain, and when we did a quick pelvic, there was
