Today marked Elon Musk's official White House exit.

Terribly sad, isn't it?

No, it's not.

So I want to take a very quick look at Elon Musk's so-called legacy.

In other words, all of the hideous harm he's done to our government and what it all actually looks like.

By every conceivable metric, Musk's stint in government has been an unmitigated, abject

failure. Any way you look on it, on the substance, it's just been wildly destructive and also

volatile. Remember like the, oh, it was the email to everyone.

What did you do? Three things. And then they just abandoned that. A lot of lifelong experts

in key positions in our federal government and lost their jobs. We can't get them back.

Important medical research. I mean, groundbreaking stuff has been paused or destroyed,

possibly indefinitely.

Government agencies across the board are functioning worse.

If you talk to people in the government and you read the reporting, they are functioning

worse than they were before.

There are also enormous, almost sort of unspeakably large ramifications for people in the global South,

where the Musk-led cuts to foreign aid will lead to incomprehensibly needless suffering.

Yes. And that was the plan all along. So this has been, in some ways, exactly what Musk intended,

but in the grander scheme of things, a total abject

failure. Of course, the White House tried to spin it with its usual propaganda. Painting

Musk is some kind of budgeting hero. But we all know that what Chris Hayes said there is true.

Our government, our country, is far worse off now than it was before Musk was allowed to run rampant through it. And I think it's important to keep in mind who let him do that? Donald Trump, another total abject failure. So now with Musk officially out, at least as far as we know, what began as a small trickle of leaks,
