Ladies and gentlemen, it is the most expensive television edit in broadcast history.

CBS has caved to President Trump in a lawsuit, making it the second of the three broadcast networks to reach a legal settlement.

Story number one.

Now, actually, I say CBS, but of course, it's the parent company Paramount agreeing late last night

to pay President $16 million to settle his lawsuit over the

editing of an interview on 60 minutes.

This is a remarkable cave-in.

You know, ever since this happened, it was dumb, it was unethical, it was shameful,

CBS dug in and defended it with arrogance, but something can be dumb and shameful and unethical and not make a winning

lawsuit.

If this had gone to trial, I think CBS easily would have won the case because it could just

argue that this was routine editing, television

does this all the time, blah, blah.

Wasn't that routine because basically a much tighter and more coherent answer was substituted

in the editing room for a kind of a run-on word salad answer about Israel.

And it wasn't like the election turned on this.

I mean, whether they had done this or not done this, even though 60 Minutes has a pretty

big audience.

You know, it was a journalistic story,

but it wasn't a story I think that affected many voters,

and Kamala was going to get clobbered anyway.
