| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the Thursday July 5th 2018 edition of Tesla Daily on |
| 0:11.2 | official Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Mower. Today we are talking |
| 0:14.2 | about a new tweet from Elon Musk, as well as some of the controversy regarding |
| 0:17.6 | break testing for model three. With the interview yesterday we didn't talk about the |
| 0:21.1 | stock price, but on Tuesday the stock closed down 7.23% to |
| 0:25.2 | 310.86 cents as compared to the NASDAQ down just 0.86%. |
| 0:30.8 | Obviously a bit surprising, however if we look back to last year on the 4th of July and this was something that was pointed out on the Tesla Motors Club's forum, almost the exact same price action took place. We had a couple days where the stock dropped 5% each day. |
| 0:43.1 | And if I recall correctly, it was also pretty surprising at this point in time |
| 0:46.4 | because that was just when the model 3 production was getting started |
| 0:49.2 | and things looked pretty good in terms of them hitting their timelines so far. |
| 0:53.2 | So as is the case this year, it didn't seem very warranted |
| 0:56.6 | for the stock to have that dramatic of a drop that quickly |
| 0:59.4 | without much of an explanation behind it. |
| 1:01.6 | We've previously talked about the effect that the stock price |
| 1:03.8 | dropping can have on a piece of news that has just recently come out. It's very easy to |
| 1:08.4 | see that if you look at the pre-market on Monday the articles regarding |
| 1:11.4 | Tesla achieving the 5,000 model 3 week were very positive and then |
| 1:15.5 | as we went through the course of the day and the stock shifted into red the articles became |
| 1:19.4 | negative seeking an explanation for why the stock was down and then that can sometimes feed on itself. |
| 1:24.9 | So while it may seem a little bit surprising for how the stock price reacted this week and a little bit unwarranted, |
| 1:30.2 | at the same time this seems like par for the course for Tesla. The good news is that if we look at last year, after that dip in the 4th of July week, |
| 1:38.0 | Tesla steadily increased throughout Q3, making new highs in September of 2017. I do think that this dip will be short-lived because |
