Summary

Elliot Rappaport has been a captain of sailing ships for the past three decades. He currently is a faculty member at Maine Maritime Academy, where he lives nearby with his wife and their dog. Elliot also sailed as a captain for many miles with Sea Education Association, an organization that offers shipboard programs in ocean science and leadership to undergraduates and high schoolers. He recently published a fantastic book called Reading the Glass: A Captain's View of Weather, Water, and Life on Ships.

0:05.6	host, Andy Schell. Today we've got Emma Garshagen guest hosting the show. I am particularly
0:12.4	excited about this episode. She interviewed Elliot Rappaport. I have not heard it yet, so I'll be
0:17.9	listening to it just like you will be as a fan. But Elliot wrote the book
0:21.9	called Reading the Glass, which Emma actually got for me as a Christmas present last year.
0:28.0	And it's the best book I've read on sailing in general and weather specifically in a very long time.

And then we'll be heading to Portugal to start the season. So it'll be a quick break and then we'll be back sailing. We've still got some openings next year on both boats and things to look forward to. We are going to be
