| 0:50.4 | Elizabeth Hasselbeck is an Emmy Award-winning talk show host, and she is a best-selling author. And I'm so happy that you came to be with us on takeaways today. I am so glad to be here. Thank you for being such a kind host. It's so fun to be here in Nashville, and this is your hometown now for the last eight years? Yes, correct. Yeah, well, how do you like raising a family here? We absolutely love it. We love, love, raising my family here. There is definitely some, a little bit of magic in the air, in the soil, in the water. But pound for pound, I still think California probably has the most to offer of any state in the union. Is that true? You want the mountains? We got them. We've got Yosemite. We got mountains. You want the ocean and the sunset right down into the water, the Pacific, we got it. If you want to go snow skiing, water skiing on the same day, we got cities, we got deserts, we got agricultural land. It's pretty fantastic. I still think Tennessee wins. I think we're going to lure you here. I want to talk to you about point of view. You've had such a diverse career. You've done so many different things. One of the things that you talk about, which I find so great, is this idea of looking into the rearview mirror and seeing where God has taken you in the past, right? You can't change the past. You can't go back and redo it. But there is an ability to look and see the faithfulness of God behind us. |
| 2:03.1 | Can you talk a little bit about why you think God has such value in looking back? |
| 2:07.3 | Well, I think reflection is where you actually get to do the work with the work that God has done in your heart. |
| 2:14.7 | So if you're able to reflect upon, like, where was I? |
| 2:17.9 | Where did God have for me there? What was I asking of him? What did he do in my heart? And where did he bring me? I think those are just powerful questions that I've been able to ask myself. And really because I've gone from Survivor where I tend to, like, be a bungee jumper in life. Like, what adventure awaits next? Okay. And if God is like, you're going to do this professionally, |
| 2:36.0 | I'm going to go do it. |
| 2:37.0 | It doesn't matter what it is. Like I'm sort of an unafraid walk on to teams. Like, hey, anybody want to let me try out? I don't know. Throw me in. I'm ready to go. And I think that spirit that God obviously put in my heart, a little bit unafraid of rejection and a little bit of lack of fear. Unafraid of starvation and death? Yeah. And you're kind of unafraid of a lot of things. I did. I went on Survivor. I wanted to know what I was made of. And I found out not much without God. I like snacks. So it was great. |
| 3:08.8 | I really revealed to me that I loved the man that is my husband now. |
| 3:12.8 | And it revealed to me that ultimately I cannot survive without the Word of God. |
