Elizabeth Hansen
Ms. Hansen is the co-founder and Chief Creative officer of Dramafy, LLC, an audio drama streaming service. She is a screenwriter and film consultant who has had a varied writing, directing, and acting career, that has taken her from Broadway, to the newsrooms of the LA Times where she had her own By-Line, to the classrooms of Brigham Young University where she taught screenwriting from 1994-2000. Ms. Hansen holds an MFA in screenwriting from AFI, has won the prestigious Writers Guild of America Award, an EMMY nomination, and was a finalist for the Humanitas Prize for excellence in children’s television programing, all for her work on the CBS Afterschool Special, American Eyes. In addition she has a Telly award and two Crystal Awards, and has won multiple screenwriting competitions.

| 1:11.0 | And Elizabeth, I'm fascinated by this idea of taking your skills and background in drama and in acting and in filmmaking and applying it to audio programming. |

| 1:25.0 | You know, it's an interesting genesis because I've been in the entertainment business as an actor, as a writer, as a director or producer for like 40 years now. |
| 1:35.0 | And in 2019, right before the big COVID happened, I produced a musical in Off-Broadway in New York. |
| 1:46.0 | And I drove there carrying props and sets because it was cheaper to do that than rent them in New York. |
| 1:53.0 | And on my drive back, as I was totally exhausted, I said, you know, I can't do this anymore. |
| 2:00.0 | Filmmaking is too expensive, theaters too expensive, trying to find distribution afterwards, trying to find theaters to produce it afterwards. |
| 2:09.0 | And then of course, timing is everything. |
| 2:11.0 | So December, we finished in New York in December and then we know what happened in March. |
| 2:17.0 | Theater as we know it kind of died. |
| 2:20.0 | And then I got this thought, I said, you know, I can't do this anymore, it's too expensive. |
| 2:24.0 | And then I got this thought, well, radio isn't. |
| 2:28.0 | So I had grown up just at the tail end of old time radio and radio theater, you know, in that you probably remember, you know, CBS radio mystery theater and this stuff that they used to do on NPR. |
