and we're gonna go over across town to Ben McKee,

who will tell us why Tennessee has just gotten really good news via 24-7 sports

about Tennessee basketball. Ben, why are we having a breaking news edition of this podcast?

Because four-star combo, Bishop Boswell, at a Myers Park High School there in

Charlotte, North Carolina, has picked Tennessee, a nice addition for Tennessee, the first commitment in Tennessee's

2024 recruiting class. Things have been fairly slow on the recruiting trail for Tennessee this cycle.

I think there's several reasons for that and we can get into that on the back end of this breaking news podcast but when you kind of sit in and look at Bishop

Boswell hard not to think of this being the prototypical Rick Barnes player and a player that fits the Tennessee basketball program

to a T and again we can get into that in just the moment as well,

but Wes a really nice recruiting win for

Tennessee and Justin Ganey Tennessee's assistant coach he kind of patrols the

the Carolinas especially there in North Carolina and with Bishop being from the Charlotte area they they really had to put in some work with this one

There was a lot of wake forest buzz for a very, very long time.

It felt like he took an official visit to Wake Forest the weekend of August 2nd,

and there was some concern not only on Tennessee's in but multiple schools that were recruiting Bishop that he could could have committed during that official visit.

He had a great relationship with Steve Forbes and the other assistant coaches over there, and

obviously Wake Forest isn't too far from Charlotte, so Wake Forest was the front runner for a very, very long time.

And then he also had great relationships with Xavier.
