Hi, this is K.M. Wyland, and you are listening to the second episode of the Word Play

podcast. I was very pleased with the reception listeners gave to my introductory episode, Brandon negotiating consumerism and fiction.

We had a few technical difficulties which prevented some of you from downloading the program.

Apparently, uploads conducted through Mozilla Firebox aren't always available to download in other browsers.

So I've uploaded this week's episode through Internet Explorer, which will hopefully solve the problem.

It's been a typically busy week for me, mostly spent catching up on various odds and ends, so that my time will be freed up to prepare for the grand launch of my upcoming historical book, Behold the Dawn.

The book, which will be released October 1st, will be officially announced in July, with a

countdown to October that will include several special features appearing on my blog.

I'm especially excited about plans for some fantastic prize drawings and other contests.

I'm admittedly not a this week's recording eliciting emotion.

I'm admittedly not a very emotional person.

Even when I feel deeply about something, it takes a lot to move me to tears.

I can count on my fingers the stories that have made me cry.

Part of this is just my emotional makeup, but part of it is also because I realize the special

power tears have.

The stories that have pulled me so far out of myself that I have closed the cover feeling emotionally scarred.

Those are the stories that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

The comedies and the fluffy chick-plex are quickly forgotten.
