This is true crime case.

It can be difficult to sense when someone is out for their own best interest.

They often will disguise it by propping others up, showering compliments that usually involve some recognition of intelligence,

which is a red flag often compliment on intelligence as the complimenter's way of complimenting themselves.

After all, if they can recognize your intelligence, what does that make them?

Pretentious? Sure. But what's the goal?

It signals them as at least as smart, but probably smarter than you write.

On a higher level, even, perhaps?

You're a smart person if you're listening to this podcast, you know what I'm talking about. I don't need to tell you.

You're a sharp one.

Narcissistic sociopathic types are everywhere. Liars, manipulators, cons. People really are a gamble to get involved with.

Dangerous to see full, fickle creatures. Big smiles under calculating eyes. For the most part reasonable unless they're hungry, scared, or even a little uncomfortable.

There isn't a long list of human types considered worse than the deadbeat.

A deadbeat, of course, is someone who takes on responsibility and then shamelessly fails to live up to it.

Be that a sister-in-law borrowing money with no intentions of ever paying it back.

A father deserting his wife and kids, disappearing with his secretary.

A mother failing to pay child support. Happy to trade time with her children for. Time spent shooting up.

The deadbeat is a despicable character in our society. And they come in many forms. The worst being the deadbeat who sticks around. The deadbeat in denial.

It's been said that the opposite of love is not hate. It's indifference.

There's nothing more toxic, more dangerous than having a prominent person in your life. Your wife, your husband, your father, your mother, a sibling.

That doesn't give a shit about you. Who hates you? In fact, they stick around only because they see it in your eyes, sense it in your body language that you see through them.
