Hello again, everybody, and welcome to the Mike Francesa podcast, our first Football Friday program of the season as we raised the curtain on the NFL.

And who to do that with better than to do it with Eli Manning, who joins us now. Eli, welcome. How are you?

I'm doing great, Mike. Thanks for having me on.

My pleasure. And first, let me congratulate you guys. And, you know, I hope somebody got a reward for whoever, if it was you or whoever one of your staff.

Because that giant, giant thing got so much attention. was one of the i knew it was a great

idea when you proposed it to me but uh it was amazing how unbelievable the response was yeah no

i wish i could take credit that was my idea but uh can't do that i'm just just like my football

days i'm i'm good at executing i'm not always good at coming up with the game plans but for for my, you know, for my local buddies, like my New York pals who I've met since being up here, they all reached out. They said it's, it's the, you know, the favorite thing that I've ever done just because they remember it happening live. They remember listening to you growing up and that going on and just the

attention that got and for it to come together, you know, years, years and later, you know,

it was a lot of fun. Thank you for being a part of that. But I think we got to make it a tradition.

We got to make the Giants' luncheon and a yearly deal now. I like it.

And you know, it's funny, in this world of social media, there's nothing that gets

a 100% favorable response.

That came close.

That actually came.

And listen, we all know that they rip everybody for everything.

But that actually, the response was almost 100% favorable to that thing.

Yeah, well, I think it was just, you know, a great idea.

And for it to come together, I mean, the chances of having the San Francisco Giants in town,

having players agree to do this for them to understand the concept of it and want to be a part of it and for everything to work out. It was a lot of fun. It was fun shooting it that day and meeting some, I've never met the, you know, the two Giants players. It was great, yeah. You know, so get to hang out with them a little bit and then get you there and Sean O'Harris. So it was a lot of fun. And, you know, you started it.

I mean, you're the one that made a reaction to this deal and thought it was so crazy. But, hey, it's not so crazy. I mean, I think if it does turn into a yearly deal, we'll give credit to you. And, of course, you got to be there. No, no, no. Your staff did a great job. You know, here it is week one.
