And boy, there are a lot of dangerous ideas floating around.

And also some very hackneyed and predictable and not particularly dangerous and convenient ideas

floating around since most of us tend to talk to each other inside little sound bites at the moment.

There's a lot of, oh yes, well, we have to be very measured

and we have to be cautious about the things that we say.

So I'm getting a little weary.

Oh, the inability to just talk bluntly

about things that are going on,

especially when tempers are running as high as they are,

given what's happening in Israel and Gaza.

Eli Lake is a great person to chat to about this.

You may have heard if you're a loyal listener and if you're not a loyal listener, hey, what

the hell are you doing?

Recently, Anthony Lowenstein was on the show, who is a Jewish-Australian journalist,

extremely critical of Israel, and this was well before Gaza, the Gaza tragedy happened.

And Anthony and I had a really interesting conversation where I felt like I was the more

pro-Israel, more pro-Zionist one.

Then the atrocities in the Middle East just happened with Hamas' attack on Israel

and now the ongoing fallout from that.

And some people on Twitter were saying, well, it wasn't great timing that you had that

conversation just a few weeks beforehand, which was so critical of Israel. How about a little bit of balance? This episode is that balance
