But the Army has identified two Iowa National Guard soldiers who were killed in Syria,

Sergeant William Howard and Sergeant Edgar Torres Tovar, who died on Saturday.

They were killed in Palmyra, Syria.

They were part of, well, Torres, Tovar, and Howard were assigned the first squadron,

113th Cavalry Regiment, second infantry brigade combat team, and the 34th Infantry

Division of the Iowa National Guard.
