And me, Jenna Brister. Hi, Jenna. Hey, Danny. I love the way we start off the podcast the same every time. Every time. We didn't even discuss it before. We just started doing it. No, it just was natural to us. Because obviously, we're natural holiday recap podcast comedians. Yes. So it comes naturally to us. purpose. How are you? I'm good. How are you? Good. I'm excited. We're covering Elf today. And much like every

And much like every episode of the podcast, we have to discuss with each other behind the

scenes, like, did we cover that already? Yes. Because we've covered seven seasons worth of

holiday films. And sometimes I think we've talked about them loosely. Sometimes we've done

little bonus things. Sometimes we've covered

them fully. Like, I don't know where or when in time and space we are. But I think with Elf,

we have touched on it a million times. We have. Do we do an episode on El? I think I was trying

to go in the archives and I did not see a full episode, but I think that we maybe kind of like

incorporated it into something. But one thing

that I do know is that we had discussed about how it was like genuinely funny and sometimes

with the ones that we actually like, they're harder to recap because they're whatever.

They're so good. Yeah. They're good. And so it and on this podcast, I know some people tune in because they really like the movies.

Some people tune in to listen to us, drag the movies. Like there's a whole slew of audience members and we try to let everyone know, like, if you really like the movie, maybe turn this off because we are going to drag it a little bit. But with Elf, I think for so many years, we were like, no, let's not touch it. It's kind of funny. And I don't know if it would be fun to recap. But then we decided to do it this year. You recommended it to do it fully, like full dive into a recap. And I felt like actually, this was the perfect year to do that because I looked at it through a new lens and I think I'm ready to drag it a little. Yeah. Does that make sense? It makes total sense. It's like it's been enough time has passed. And I was wondering why that was. Why am I feeling the need to kind of drag it? Is that just where we're at culturally, everything's such a mess outside, a hellscape, that I'm like, oh, I feel the need to drag this beloved classic holiday film that I've always loved. Yeah. But I hadn't seen it in a while. Like a few, I think a few years that I kind of turned on it. And I was like, why did I turn on it? And I think it's the merchandising. Oh, yeah. Because it's everywhere, gentlemen. It's everywhere. And James Can, is that how you say it's the same?

He also, I think, hated it. He didn't think Phil Farrell was funny. He was like, you're not funny. Imagine saying that because we did groundlings. We did groundlings. Could you imagine that a man from the godfather being like, you aren't funny? That would break me as a comedian. But I was, yeah, totally. Like you're not, yeah, like the godfather actor. Yeah. But it really reminded me. I think I might have been talking about this in my other podcast, uh, but I love when like a serious actor does kind of like a fluffy thing. Yes. Like, um, Al Pacino in that Adam Sandler movie Jack and Jill. Do you remember? I never saw that. I think I might. he's in it. Yeah. But Adam Sandler plays Jack and Jill. I never saw that. I think I might.

He's in it.

But Adam Sandler plays like Jack and Jill.

Yeah.

And I think Al Pacino's like, you know, in it. Or Jack Nicholson and the other Adam Ingram management or is me or something. But I love the idea of like Jack Nicholson showing up on set and like having to just like react with Adam Sandler's doing the voice or something like in a wig and Al Pacino. It's like that to me is

like Sally Field and Doubtfire. Same thing. And Pierce Brosnan. Like they were dialed into the
