to do a podcast in two segments related to Sansa's

perspective on the Battle of Blackwater Bay. The first segment is Sansa Five in

the Clash of Kings and that is what we'll air today. We'll air the second half of this conversation in a couple weeks.

After my conversation about Sansa, I include an excerpt of my conversation with Professor Kelly DeVries, who wrote a book that I've returned to quite a bit in the last few months in preparation for the Battle of the Blackwater.

So I thought in preparation for the climax of Clash of Kings, I thought I would include an extended interview

with Professor Kelly DeVries.

He really is one of the world's foremost experts on military warfare and military technology.

All right, without further ado, here is Carol and Ian and Kavita.

It's interesting to put her next to Sansa because I think Sansa's ammunition is courtesy.

Sansa is like, I'm going to talk to you as if you're a night and my hope is that you will then act like a night.

And she does this pretty often with the Hound.

Who laughs at her and you know, mocks her sense of knighthood and yet he he does act nightly around her at times right so it's almost like she, her weaponry kind of works a little bit on him.

Of course, I think, seriously, is just too cynical to, she doesn't think anyone has honor, and so why try to appeal to it. I think I think

though the hound actually does have a twisted sense of honor he does actually

have a code that he sticks by himself even if it's just for him he has a line he will do all these terrible things but he has a line he won't cross which is more that can be said for some of them.

Sorry, Carol. That's what I was going to say actually that the hand does have a code that he follows that for Sansa she's realizing that he follows that code better than you know certainly someone like

Joffrey who looks the part in his armor with his pouty lips but he doesn't act the

part and also the King Guard. Right.
